We had a very wet Thursday afternoon last week, but 149 families including 18 new ones came to the pantry. They received bread, milk and fresh produce in addition to their groceries. 25 individuals helped stock the shelves on Tuesday and another 53 helped on Thursday. I don't think sometimes when we talk about how many families come through we stop to think those "families" consist of about 400-600 individual people that you are helping to feed for the week. Our need for food is great and we appreciate each item you bring in.
This week we need boxes of cereal, canned vegetables, boxed dinners, noodles, beans, rice, cake mixes, sugar and snacks. We always appreciate toilet paper, diapers and baby wipes. They are rare as donations and when we do get them we separate them so that more people can be helped.
I would like to introduce you to the Reddick family. Janice, Dennis and Megan. Janice and Megan are weekly faithful volunteers. Janice has done everything from stock, watch kids, call names, assist guests, go to Midwest for food pickup to manning the front desk. Her daughter Megan is always by her side ready and willing to assist where ever she is needed. Dennis assists with walking guests through, picking items up or helping guests carry their groceries out as time from his job allows. We appreciate you Reddick family. May you receive a portion of the blessings back that you freely give to others.
We appreciate paper and plastic bags that we can recycle for guests food. We do have plenty of laundry soap containers at this time.
