Today we drove about an hour, on typically African roads that gave us a good "African message," so that we could worship with children and staff at Joska Boarding School. The boarding school houses six through twelfth graders. We were blessed with a couple of hours of singing, dancing, plays and sermons at the church. Nothing is more beautiful then hearing around 500 kids raising their voices in song to God. Someone in our group mentioned that she believes heaven will probably be like a church service in Africa. It was also amazing to see the students leading the service and praise team. At the end of the service we were asked to introduce ourselves and share our favorite bible verse and were amazed that the children could recite the verses from memory for us. We all mentioned that we wished our kids could recite memory verses so fast! We spent the rest of the day eating and fellowshipping with the teachers and social workers at the school. We also got a tour and were impressed with all the improvements that they have made and how they created a water treatment center where they bottled their own water. Tomorrow we are off to work in Area 2 in Mathare. Please pray for energy for us. (written by Mary)
