WRCC Family,
Just wanted to let you know that we are in the process of coordinating a plan to help the families devasted by the recent tornados in Southern Indiana. We've been in contact with WRCC members, other local churches, and organizations located in the disaster area. We hope to have a united response from our WRCC family communicated to you by this afternoon. Some of these options may include sending a volunteer team to serve, collecting donated items to send, and giving direction on sending cash donations. Thanks to everyone who has communicated opportunities to help. Please continue to pray for those impacted by this event. Thanks so much and God bless.

Our "Stand for Justice" Outreach ministry is taking on another injustice that is happening in our world with Human Trafficking or modern day slavery. With the international draw of the Super Bowl comes the draw of those who engage in this type of criminal exploitation of both women and children. So this afternoon, our team will be partnering up with the Engage ministry at WRCC to wrap and deliver 4,000 bars of soap to local hotels in the Indianapolis area. Each bar will be wrapped with an an awareness message with the hope that any victims would would find a way to freedom and any of this activity would be thwarted. Please pray for God to use this initiative to bring His justice to this important issue. You can find more information regarding the S.O.A.P. Project at www.traffickfree.com. Also, look for more in the coming days regarding Freedom Sunday on February 26th, see www.freedomsunday.org.

This coming Monday is Halloween night. Whether you & your family participate in this event or not, there will be plenty of friends & neighbors who will be walking up to your doorstep or across your lawn. In our neighborhoods today, this doesn't happen very often. I would venture to guess that we may have not spoken but a few words to some of our closest neighbors or even taken time to know their names. Monday night will be one of the easist, most natural, interactions with our neighbors we may have throughout the entire year. So light up the night with the love of Jesus Christ & be a blessing to all those families & children walking up the steps. Oh yeah, have fun with it! :-)
"Make the most of every opportunity, for the days are evil" - Ephesians 5:16
Here are a few ways to be a blessing & a light for Christ:

We were never meant to stay in one place, whether from a geographical standpoint or in the way we live our lives. An amazing adventure awaits us if we have the courage to faithfully follow where God leads. We know the life changing power of the Gospel moves us closer to the heart of God. Historic events can shift our lives in ways we don't understand. As I listened to the stories of countless people whose lives have been forever altered by the events of 9.11, a fire began to be re-kindled within me reminding me of what living a life on mission with Jesus Christ is really all about. It's not any one program or event that we're apart of. Those opportunities are both necessary and serve as a blessing to many, however their primary goal should be to inspire us to the greater things God has for us in the day to day of our lives. Maybe it's a family serving together on a mission trip, adopting a child, or simply helping a neighbor in need. I recall a phone conversation a couple years back that made it crystal clear for me. We had a service project scheduled on a Saturday in our community. This person called me up and said "I apologize that I won't be able to make it to the service project this Saturday, because our neighbor's wife is sick and our family is taking over a meal and helping with some yardwork. My response..."That's it! You're living a life on mission with Christ! I wouldn't expect you to be anywhere else, and I don't think God would either :-)

When preparing our hearts for this short-term mission trip to the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, I prayed personally for at least one little girl I could connect with to share God’s love.
God is always faithful.... This is a 10 year old girl with a hearing-aid, but not letting that get in her way of having a blast jumping and flipping in the bounce house, throwing as hard as she could to dunk Fred Knoll in the dunk tank, singing and dancing up front with the band, “Sing, Love, Sing” and creating beautiful crafts to keep when we leave. She joked and shared a little of her big personality with me when we were getting our nails painted. She begged me for an orange sharpie pen there on the craft table and I told her that if it was mine, I would gladly give it to her but since it wasn’t she should put it back. She then proceeded to try to still put it in her pocket, right in front of me! I was shocked but calmly said, “That is not yours. You need to put it back. You are a better person than that. Stealing really doesn’t pay off in the long-run." She sighed and tossed it back into the basket saying, “Fine!” Then we continued on like nothing happened. I let her, with assistance of course, use my camera to take some pictures of the band before they really got going. It is moments like these that can make or break a relationship you are trying to build. I thank God for the opportunity to be around such bright green eyes and a playful soon-to-be 11 year old.

It's been quite an adventure this week with a shotgun start to FHL week over the weekend! Things heated up at the Street Dance, kept rolling the next morning at the Lowe's lot, then came the downpour which sent everyone running for cover. Even with all that, God used over 200 of His people to finish the wall sections for the 3 Haitian Churches! Yesterday, local service projects kicked off at the 4H grounds, Noble Manor Apts, Suburban Estates, and Noblesville Schools. Today, the Westfield football team joined us to serve, along with several others ready to go after a great morning of worship at the fairgrounds. God continues to amaze us as He provides all we need and in His timing. Tonight, we wrapped up the day with the summer splash pool party at Forest Park. Thanks to everyone who has come out to bring the Gospel message of Jesus Christ through both Word and Deed to the people of our community! If you haven't been able to join us yet, we still have plenty of opportunities to serve and we'll close out the week on Thursday with a community meal and worship service at the fairgrounds. Pray that God will accomplish all He wants through our lives in these last couple of days. We know that every good and perfect gift comes from Him alone and that all things are possible through Christ Jesus!

Back in the day, the legendary "Red Rocket" would haul several loads of ministry supplies to offsite locations for various outreach events. Thankfully today we have a big box truck to help with the haul, but the rocket still has its place, hauling everything from coolers, to tents, banners and tables. It's nearing a 10 year run with the ministry and has been a blessing to many. Tomorrow, we begin setup for FHL Week at 7am. If you want to see the Red Rocket in action, don't miss this opportunity. Her days could be numbered...who knows, you may even get to take her for a spin. ;-)
